Atanga’s live performances are an evolving experimental practice centred on immersive sound and deep listening. Electric guitar, electronics, synthesisers, field recordings and live sampling come together in a sound that moves between intimacy and intensity. Shaped through improvisation rather than fixed arrangements, each set finds its flow in response to the space and the moment.

His guitar playing draws on the emotional directness and expressive weight of the blues. Slide guitar and sustained tones meet layered textures, fractured rhythms and deep low frequencies, creating a hybrid language in which raw expression and sonic experimentation are inseparable. Each performance becomes its own environment: a place to slow down, listen closely and be drawn further into sound and feeling.

Textures is the debut release from OI, a collaborative project by Oscar Atanga and ILYICH aka Anton Kats.

Created during an improvised all-day session in Berlin, the record moves freely between ambient atmospheres and experimental planes, fusing modular synthesis, vintage hardware, deep bass, dub sirens, samplers and field recordings to create something greater than the sum of its parts.

It is spatial, layered and alive, vibrating towards a different kind of language. One shaped by movement, intuition and texture itself.

Commissioned by Apple Music and Endel for the Endel Wellness Mixes series, Relax: Oscar Atanga x Endel is an exploration of texture, atmosphere and gradual movement. Moving through spacious electronics, acoustic detail and layered transitions, the mix creates a listening environment for rest, reflection and unwinding.
